New Found Paths

New Found Paths is a personal project which focuses on psychogeography, the beauty of nature and the positive impact of being outdoors. It is an on-going collection featuring: expansive landscapes, glory and gloom, nooks and crannies, overlooked and over-worn, and portraiture, the visible effect of place on oneself. Living in Manchester certainly has its perks, but moving here from a rural area highlights the real lack of green space in the city. I find myself and my friends sometimes feel boxed in and depleated when staying in this urban environment for long stretches.

Having the peak district national park only an hour away in the car (or train) has been a massive boost, and through a challenging year for a variety of personal reasons it has helped me a great deal to keep a positive outlook on the things that really matter. In the world we live in today, i think that this is something that could positively impact an alarming number of people that are feeling the same way, there is something incredibly freeing about being amongst nature, a deep breath of fresh air. This book aims to encourage people to get out of the city occasionally and reap the mental and physical benefits of the raw outdoors.
