Un-Naked
The ongoing project Un-Naked explores themes of Biophilia, Phenomenology, and Psychogeography through the philosophy of walking. The title reflects the process of uncovering new spaces and stripping away external distractions to foster a deeper connection with the natural world. Using analogue medium format photography and darkroom printing, this body of work captures meditative landscapes that encourage introspection and an intimate engagement with place. At its core, the project is driven by the idea that humans share an inherent bond with nature, both physiologically and emotionally. Walking serves as both a creative and conceptual tool, allowing for a more immersive interaction with the landscape. This process is not about conquering or merely observing nature but about being within it—experiencing its presence through movement, sensation, and reflection. The photographic approach is guided by intuition rather than aesthetics, emphasizing the emotional impact of place. Images are captured in moments of release and connection, shaped by the psychological influence of the environment. The physicality of darkroom printing mirrors this engagement, allowing for a deeper contemplation of the final image. Through light and shadow, details emerge that might otherwise go unnoticed, much like the subtle discoveries made while walking. Through Un-Naked, the aim is to inspire a renewed awareness of our relationship with nature. By creating a space for reflection, the work encourages a contemplative response to the landscape, inviting viewers to consider their own connection with the natural world.
